Georgia ‘definitely a top priority’ for 2026 ATH Jordan Thomas

Do not adjust your screen if Georgia recruiting a prospect named Jordan Thomas from New Jersey seems too familiar to you.

While the Bulldogs signed a player of the same name (a four-star defensive lineman from national powerhouse Don Bosco Prep) out the Garden State in the Class of 2024, they have their sights set on another in the Class of 2026, this time from national powerhouse Bergen Catholic.

The younger, newly recruited Thomas checks in as a four-star athlete in a 6-foot, 175 pound frame.

“My recruitment has been going extremely well,” Thomas told DawgsHQ. “Recently, I’ve heard from Ohio State, Georgia, and Notre Dame just to name a few.”

Thomas made his way to the Classic City in early April, and things began to blossom from there.

“I went on a visit to Georgia recently and spoke to Coach Donte [Williams] briefly at the end of their practice,” Thomas said. “My coach told me to reach out to Coach Donte. I did, and he offered. Their competitiveness and how they develop elite athletes stands out to me when I think about Georgia. On my visit, I saw how tough they were and how bad everyone wanted to win.”

It was clear where that mentality stemmed from, as well.

“The coaches at Georgia seemed to hold everyone accountable, even the freshman,” Thomas said. “Everyone knew their job and executed it well in competition. It was unique how Coach Smart even coached the other coaches from time to time to uphold a certain standard.”

Now, Thomas has a chance to be a part of that standard, as well.

“I was speechless and full of excitement when I received the Georgia offer,” he said. “It was an amazing moment, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity.”

Given what the coaching staff expressed to Thomas, it’s no surprise they moved on the offer.

“(Coach Williams) asked me a few questions about myself and what I thought about my visit to Georgia. He also spoke very highly of my athletic ability and my character,” Thomas said. “Coach Donte loved my tape and how I finished every play, especially when the ball didn’t come my way. My toughness, versatility, and intelligence on the field are how I fit in with what they do at Georgia.”

Now, the talented rising junior do-it-all feels assured it won’t be the last time he’s able to see that all in-person, especially with summer around the corner.

“Yes, (I plan to get back this summer),” Thomas said. “The Bulldogs are definitely a top priority.”

Jordan Thomas currently ranks as the nation’s No. 279 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 per the On3 Industry Ranking.
