NC State football recruiting board update: Wide receiver
NC State football signed one of the best wide receiver classes in program history last cycle, securing commitments from four pass catchers ranked as a four-star prospect by at least one recruiting service. The Wolfpack signed five players at the position in total, so this year’s class will likely be smaller.
After previously including six wide receivers on the March recruiting board update, the list is now down to five. Each of those prospects will officially visit in June.
TheWolfpacker.com is in the process of breaking down NC State’s recruiting board by position. Wide receiver is up next.
We will update these boards throughout the year, sorting prospects into one of five categories.

Projected to the Pack
Three-star wide receiver Jerel Bolder
Recruitment status: Top 5 of NC State, Georgia, UVA, Ole Miss and Duke.
Ranking: No. 578 nationally, No. 94 wide receiver, No. 15 in prospect North Carolina (On3 Industry)
Height/weight: 5-11, 187 pounds
School: Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills High
Other notable offers: UNC, South Carolina, Michigan
Future NC State visits: June 21-23 (official)
The scoop: Bolder is locked in for the last official visit weekend in June, and I continue to like where the Pack stands with him. Duke, UVA and NC State have all been recruiting him for a long time and will receive official visits. The Pack coaches, specifically receivers coach Joker Phillips and head coach Dave Doeren, have done a great job making sure Bolder he is clear priority in this class. He has visited campus plenty of times, and the Wolfpack staff will stop by Forest Hills High later this month. Georgia and Ole Miss are worth monitoring after offering earlier this year. The Bulldogs seem to be NC State’s most significant competition at the moment.
Recruitment status: Official visits set with NC State and Virginia Tech
Ranking: Unranked
Height/weight: 5-10, 170 pounds
School: Charlotte (N.C.) Chambers High
Other notable offers: Miami, Virginia Tech
Future NC State visits: June 21-23 (official)
The scoop: Concepcion continues to think very highly of the Wolfpack, and NC State is doing everything it needs to to make sure the explosive receiver knows he is a priority. The program is not taking his recruitment for granted because he is a sibling legacy recruit. NC State is competing with Virginia Tech and Miami right now, and it sounds like those schools still have quite a bit of ground to make up to pass the Wolfpack here.
Trending towards the Pack
Four-star wide receiver Shamarius Peterkin
Recruitment status: Official visits set with NC State, UNC and Virginia Tech
Ranking: No. 266 nationally, No. 35 wide receiver, No. 7 prospect in North Carolina (On3 Industry)
Height/weight: 6-2, 175 pounds
School: Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor High
Other notable offers: Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida State
Future NC State visits: June 21-23 (official)
The scoop: Peterkin returned to NC State for the spring game, and that trip went very well. The Wolfpack has consistently gained momentum in the Mount Tabor High receiver’s recruitment over the past nine months. His bond with Phillips continues to grow stronger, and the staff impressed him each of the four times he stopped by campus since the start of the 2023 football season. He will officially visit UNC and NC State on back-to-back weekends this summer.
Wait and see
Recruitment status: Official visits set with NC State and Kansas.
Ranking: Unranked
Height/weight: 6-2, 180 pounds
School: Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian School
Other notable offers: Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Syracuse
Future NC State visits: June 14-16 (official)
The scoop: Daniels visited NC State for the first time March 7 and left campus with a great impression of the Wolfpack program. He later locked in an official visit with the program. The receiver will also spend June 21-23 with Kansas. During his junior track season, the receiver set a school record with a 21.37 200-meter dash. He has truly elite speed and would be an intriguing addition to the class.
Longshots
Four-star wide receiver Malik Clark
Recruitment status: Open
Ranking: No. 239 nationally, No. 35 wide receiver, No. 5 prospect in South Carolina (On3)
Height/weight: 6-3, 180 pounds
School: Rock Hill (S.C.) High
Other notable offers: South Carolina, UNC, Kentucky
Future NC State visits: June 21-23
The scoop: Clark visited NC State in January as his recruitment started to heat up, but he has not returned to campus since then. He is interested in the program because of his bond with Phillips, but UNC and South Carolina appear to have the edge with the Rock Hill star for now.
