Michigan men’s lacrosse is headed to the Big Ten Championship game for the second straight season, winning their first ever title with a victory over Maryland in the final last season. Now, they’re back after winning a semifinal clash over No. 2 Johns Hopkins, 10-7, Thursday evening in Columbus, Ohio.

The Maize and Blue will take on Penn State, which disposed of Maryland 19-9 in the semis, Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on Big Ten Network.

Legendary former Michigan and NFL quarterback Tom Brady was interviewed by the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan ahead of graduation.

Penn State had a long, 34-yard gain on a run by running back Kaytron Allen in a 24-15 loss to Michigan last November, but the play is still talked about today due to what then-sophomore defensive tackle did, chasing down Allen and making the tackle from behind.

“Kenneth Grant running down the running back in that game, I was up off my feet,” former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was suspended for the game and watched from a nearby hotel, said the following Monday. “One of the best plays of the season, that play by Kenneth Grant. Maybe one of the best plays ever. Compare it to the play Justin Smith made against the Eagles my first year coaching at the 49ers. It was a guardian of victory type of play. Kenneth was dominant in the game. He was the real tone-setter right from the first series. He’s playing great. Only a sophomore. Tremendous.”

Michigan’s 13 NFL Draft picks in 2024 stand as the fourth most of all time by a school in a single draft, behind only Georgia in 2022 (15), Ohio State in 2004 (14) and LSU in 2020 (14).
