4-star TE Kylan Fox locks in commitment date, reschedules official visits

Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star tight end Kylan Fox spent Saturday on an unofficial visit to Florida State. Following the trip, he was ready to reveal when he would share his college destination.

Fox has set a commitment date for July 4 and a new official visit schedule. He will still be seeing UCF on June 2-4, but will now visit Miami on June 9-11, Colorado on June 16-18 and Florida State from June 23-25.

“I’m going to take my official visits in June and see how I feel about the schools,” Fox told On3. “Then, I will be ready to commit on July 4.”

The aforementioned programs all made Fox’s top six, which he released on April 5. His other two finalists are Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.

Fox is the No. 212 overall prospect and No. 13 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 29 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-4.5, 217-pound recruit previously told On3 that a trio of schools are in the lead for his pledge.

“I have three good favorites right now and they are on me hard,” Fox said on April 26. “The consistency has stood out and since I cut list down, these three have been tremendous with me and my mom. They have kind of set a different standard by the way they communicate. All three are trying to get me back on campus. They’ve really shown me something.”

Fox discusses his top six schools

Colorado: “Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) is a legendary coach. He’s already made it clear that he’s gonna win and he’s gonna win right now. It’s the little things, like the spring game being sold out. That’s important because him being there, his presence makes everything feel good at Colorado.”

Florida State: “It’s close to home. I feel at home when I’m in Tallahassee. Every time I go back to Florida State, the visit just gets better. I get to see 1% more than I saw last visit and then, just the relationships I have with coach (Chris) Thomsen and coach (Mike) Norvell.”

Georgia Tech: “Coach (Brent) Key is a great guy. He’s shown it in the past. Their new offensive coordinator, coach (Buster) Faulkner, he comes from Georgia and had a lot to do with the development of Brock BowersDarnell Washington and those guys. I know his knowledge of the tight ends and that offense will have those guys back on top offensively.”

Miami: “Miami is off the charts. The campus is beautiful, the town is nice and then with coach (Mario) Cristobal, it’s his second year. He signed a great recruiting class is 2023 and it’s only gonna get bigger.”

Ole Miss: “Coach (Lane) Kiffin is the offensive GOAT. He knows how to use the tight ends. When he was at Alabama, he got the job done. Everywhere he’s been, he’s got the job done. When I went on campus, I noticed their tight ends got the ball more than anybody on the field, so I know that if I go to Ole Miss, I have a great chance to get the football a lot.”

UCF: “Coach (Gus) Malzhan and coach (Brian) Blackmon constantly hit me up. We talk every other week. They went dead a little bit in my recruitment at one point, but then, it picked back up real fast. Ever since it’s picked up, it’s just been constant communication and building relationships.”
