Auburn Transfer Portal Target Tracker: Defense

The NCAA transfer portal spring window opened on April 16 allowing FBS college football players to officially enter their names into the portal. Players have 15 days to enter their names into the portal, which closes on April 30.

Auburn added nine transfers during the winter window, including five on defense: safeties Jerrin Thompson (Texas) and Antonio Kite (Alabama), defensive linemen Gage Keys (Kansas) and Trill Carter (Texas) and linebacker Dorian Mausi (Duke). The Tigers will look to add more in the spring window.

Auburn is looking to add a linebacker during this window and have set its sights on Jacobs, the South Alabama transfer. Jacobs told Auburn Live that he will visit Auburn on Tuesday. He also plans to visit Missouri and Alabama. Jacobs told BamaOnLine that the Tide is leading and a big reason why is Kane Wommack, the former South Alabama head coach who is now the defensive coordinator at Alabama. Auburn, however, is pushing hard.

Auburn appears interesting in adding at least one transfer defensive back during this window and has reached out to Cole, according to Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston. Cole already is highly coveted by many schools and is set to visit Texas and Michigan State this week, per On3’s SpartanMag.
