Inside Scoop: More post-NFL draft feedback, Texas coaches on the road

Inside Texas delivers even more feedback from top prospects and commits after UT’s big 2024 NFL Draft, plus intel on coaches hitting the road this week and new names to know in Monday’s Inside Scoop.

While Huhn sees Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers going early in the 2025 NFL Draft, who is the Longhorn wide receiver who Huhn thinks gets picked first next year?

“I would say Isaiah Bond.”

COACHES ON THE ROAD

The Texas football coaches will hit the recruiting trail this week with a number of prospects on the agenda.

Texas OL coach Kyle Flood is expected on the West coast to see targets John Mills and Peter Langi. He’s also expected to swing through the Metroplex to check in on Michael Fasusi, Lamont Rogers, and the Coleman brothers, Jordan and Devin.

Texas DL coach Kenny Baker is headed to East Texas this week to see Zion Williams. An SEC swing to see Brandon Brown and other regional targets is also likely.

Texas WR coach Chris Jackson is expected to swing through DFW to see Dakorien Moore, Kaliq Lockett, and others. He’s also looking at a Florida trip to see Jaime Ffrench and Winston Watkins.

Texas RB coach Tashard Choice is expected to stop in Louisiana to see James Simon. He’ll then head to East Texas to see Texas pledge Rickey Stewart Jr, and 2026 targets Javian Osborne, KJ Edwards and Tradarian Ball. One junior tailback to watch is Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek RB Amari Latimer.

Latimer is an On3 Industry Ranking four-star and On3’s No. 14th RB in 2026.
