Report: Florida’s Micah Handlogten likely to redshirt next season

The first season at Florida for Micah Handlogten did not end positively at all with what took place in Nashville. Now, those unfortunate circumstances could be costing him all of next year long before the season ever tips off.

Per CBS Sports’ John Rothstein, who spoke with Todd Golden, Handlogten “is likely to redshirt” next season. That means his significant injury in the finals of the SEC Tournament could already be ending his junior year in Gainesville after it ended his sophomore season.

Handlogten transferred to Florida for last season after his freshman season at Marshall. In 33 games as a starter for the Gators, he averaged 5.3 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 62.2% from the field.
