Fast-rising RB: ‘(The Gators) are one of my best offers’
When Trey Kinkle was offered by the Gators less than two weeks ago, he immediately labeled them a top contender and said an official visit was in the works.
Now, that multi-day return trip is scheduled for May 31-June 2, Gators Online has learned.
Kinkle, a fast-rising running back from Holly Springs (Miss.) High, made his way to Gainesville on April 11. He was then personally offered by Billy Napier prior to departing campus.
Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, N.C. State and UCF are additional schools that have offered in recent weeks; in fact, UTSA was the first program to pull the trigger on March 28.
Stock up for the 2025 prospect.
“They are one of my best offers,” Kinkle said of Florida when speaking with Gators Online on Wednesday. “I know they are serious (about me). The running backs coach (Jabbar Juluke) came to my school, met the important people in my life, and saw my environment. That stands out to me.”
Kinkle felt like a priority for Florida right away
Last cycle, the Gators landed another Mississippi running back in Kahnen Daniels. Being able to see a familiar face operate in such a big setting had Kinkle excited during his recent visit.
“They actually have a running back who came in last year and played at a school in Mississippi,” Kinkle said. “I actually watched some of his film, so that was kind of cool seeing someone from where I’m from.
“They have great facilities and took care of me well. They made sure I was good and the coaches are nice. It was just well presented. Everything was well presented on the field as well.”
According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Gators are trending with odds of 74.4 percent.
During the 2023 season, the 6-foot, 185-pound Kinkle racked up 20 total touchdowns, including 10 on the ground and six receiving.
