On300 4-Star Georgia Edge Eyeing Fall USC Official Visit

Buford (Ga.) 4-Star Edge KingJoseph Edwards began the new year getting serious about his recruitment. Edwards narrowed his college list down to 15 schools.

The No. 113 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 industry rankings is down from his nearly 40 offers. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, USC, Tennessee, Nc State, FSU, Oregon, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Michigan, Pittsburgh and Oklahoma remain. 

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has been trending toward Georgia for a while for the four-star edge. The Bulldogs have an 50.7% chance of landing Edwards down the road. Miami is second at 23.2% and USC’s at 16.4%. Expert predictions have been submitted for both USC and Miami.

USC among the top for KingJospeh

USC was a school Edwards first visited back in May 2022. He told WeAreSC back then he planned to return. Although the return visit hasn’t occurred, he told us on Thursday USC will get an official visit in the Fall. Joseph will spend most of his time this sum mer on academics.

“Yes, I will still be visiting USC,” he said. “They are in my top 3. I’ll be focusing on academics over the summer. My OV (official visit) will be in the fall during the season.”

Edwards is a dominant player on the field

In February, Edwards had an impression showing at the UA Next Camp Series in Atlanta. On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power named him On3 MVP of the showcase. 

“KingJoseph Edwards earned the nod as On3 MVP at the Under Armour Atlanta regional after putting together what was the most complete day from start to finish,” Power wrote. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder impressed in with quick, explosive movements in footwork drills. When the bags came out, he promptly showed off active and violent hands. Those skills crossed over to the 1-on-1 portion of the day where Edwards put together a number of impressive wins against offensive tackles. He won his first rep with a quick first step and high-level inside move. 

“He also showed some speed to power and pop on contact in following reps,” he continued. “Edwards was also singled out as a standout performer by Under Armour defensive line coach Nathan O’Neal following the event. The 2024 prospect holds offers from the likes of USC, Texas A&M, Texas, Florida State, Tennessee, Arkansas and several others. He’s transferred to powerhouse Buford (Ga.) High after playing his sophomore season at Hebron Christian Academy.”

On3 NIL Valuation

Edwards has an On3 NIL Valuation of $105K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
