Jason Taylor, Jahmile Addae stop at St. Thomas Aquinas to check up on Miami commit Chance Robinson, elite defensive prospects

Miami co-defensive line coach Jason Taylor and secondary coach Jahmile Addae stopped by Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas earlier this week to check up on four-star Miami 2024 receiver commit Chance Robinson and 2024 On300 four-star Miami safety target Ryan Mack, among a bevy of other prospects.

It marked the first of two evaluation visits the coaches are able to take to St. Thomas this spring as Miami’s staff continues to hit the road to visit different prospects. Taylor and Addae dropped by during the day to ask about three-star, 6-foot-2, 175-pound 2024 cornerback Allen Bryant; unranked 6-foot-1, 175-pound 2024 cornerback Romanas Frederique; and 2026 6-foot-1, 175-pound ATH Justice Fitzpatrick along with some other recruits.

St. Thomas head coach Roger Harriott said the staff wants to return sometime later this spring for their second evaluation visit to the school.

Miami checked up on Robinson, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound No. 133 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and one of the Canes’ first commits of this year’s recruiting class and continued to inquire about Mack, a 5-foot-11, 150-pound safety and the No. 479 recruit in the class. Mack is also the No. 247 recruit in the On300 and visited Miami earlier this spring.

The Hurricanes are the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine leader for Mack with an estimated 54.6% chance to land the On300 four-star prospect ahead of Florida State, Penn State, Alabama and South Carolina.

Harriott said Addae inquired more about Bryant, Frederique and Fitzpatrick, who Miami has established interest in. Frederique visited Miami this spring and has been in contact with the staff for some time. The Hurricanes lead for Frederique in the RPM with an estimated 69% chance ahead of FIU, UCF, Florida State and West Virginia, among others.

Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, has quickly become one of the faster-rising prospects in the 2026 class with an offer list that already includes Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State and Arkansas, although Miami is the RPM’s slight leader at 13.1%.

Bryant does not have a Miami offer but is the No. 744 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and has drawn interest from more than half a dozen programs. Florida Atlantic is the current RPM favorite.

The On3 NIL Valuation lists Robinson with a $113k value; Mack with a $28k value; Bryant with a $21k value; Frederique with a $12.8k value and Fitzpatrick with an $11.5k value.

CaneSport’s Take

Taylor has become a Miami-area recruiter this spring already having taken trips north to Boynton Beach and returning to St. Thomas., where he worked as an assistant coach from 2017-2021. I’d expect Taylor to continue hammering St. Thomas given his already-established connection to the school.
