Auburn ‘a top school’ for Florida DL Jeramiah McCloud, plans official visit

Auburn offered a Mississippi State defensive line commit a month ago. Jeramiah McCloud, a 3-star defensive lineman from Havana (Fla.) Gadsden County, has since decommitted from Mississippi State and has several schools working to get him on campus.

“I will take a Florida OV, USC OV, Georgia OV, and an LSU OV,” he said.

The Tigers are new to his recruitment, but already high on his list. He is still in the early stages of communication, but wants to get on campus soon and is working on setting up an official visit.

“Yes sir, I will visit,” he said. “I don’t have an official date set, but I have been talking to Coach (Vontrell King-Williams), he wants me to set an OV there, but we haven’t put a date together yet.”

For now, McCloud is the No. 460 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 39 defensive lineman, and the No. 64 player in the state of Florida according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Tight with King-Williams

According to McCloud, the Tigers first reached out a little over a month ago. In that same conversation, Auburn offered him as well. The offer is one that he has high interest in.

“About four weeks now,” McCloud said. “It meant a lot because Auburn has a history and tradition. I like Auburn because they’re SEC.”

McCloud says that since the offer, Auburn defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams has been keeping in touch regularly and building a bond with him. That bond has Auburn in the running for him.

“They’re a top school for me because of the relationship I have with Coach (King-Williams),” he said. “I have never been there. I need to go see it and see what it is like.”

As far as connections with Auburn, McCloud doesn’t have much. He has hit it off with Auburn defensive line commit Malik Autry in a recent camp.

“One of my homeboys is committed, he is a 2025 defensive lineman, I met him at a camp, Malik Autry,” he said.
