Handful of schools standing out to On300 4-star RB Iverson Howard

Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard four-star running back Iverson Howard is fresh off of a visit to Michigan, and the Wolverines are one of a handful of schools that continue to play a role in his recruitment.

Howard told On3’s Chad Simmons that Michigan, Florida State, Wisconsin, Maryland, Rutgers and Indiana are schools that “are standing to stand out.” In addition to Michigan, Howard has also visited the in-state Terrapins this spring.

Communication is “key” for Howard, he said.

“I have built good relationships with coaches at those schools,” Howard said.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Howard has OVs set to Ann Arbor (June 7) and Tallahassee (June 14).

“I am looking to make a decision in late June after my official visits,” Howard said.

Howard is a three-star prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the nation’s No. 411 overall prospect, No. 32 running back and No. 11 recruit from Maryland.

On3 rates Howard as a four-star recruit in the 2025 On300. He ranks No. 274 nationally and No. 23 among tailbacks.

Howard was back on campus in Ann Arbor for the Maize and Blue’s spring game.

“The visit went great,” Howard told The Wolverine. “It was nice meeting the new staff, and I enjoyed the culture.”

Howard also met with new Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford.

“(Alford) is a great guy,” Howard said. “I learned a lot from him.”
