2024 RB Xavier Robinson locks in Notre Dame official visit
Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert class of 2024 running back Xavier Robinson has scheduled an official visit with Notre Dame, he tweeted on Thursday.
The 6-2, 221-pounder will see South Bend for the first time June 6-8 for a midweek official visit. The Irish will also host 2024 safety Davis Andrews during that time.
Robinson also has official visits lined up with Iowa State June 9, Oklahoma June 15 and Oklahoma State June 22. He’s considered an Oklahoma lean according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
He ranks as the nation’s No. 670 overall player and No. 54 running back per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.
The Irish have a running back commitment Hannibal (Mo.) High’s Aneyas Williams and are looking to take a second back in the class. Lufkin (Texas) High’s Kedren Young and Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day’s Anthony Carrie are the Irish’s other top running back targets, and both are also set to officially visit Notre Dame next month.

On May 1, Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCullough evaluated Robinson at Carl Albert High School. The day prior, McCullough made his first phone contact with Robinson. And by the end of that Thursday, McCullough extended the scholarship offer, which came out of the blue to Robinson.
“I never talked to any of the staff members from Notre Dame,” Robinson told Blue & Gold. “When he hit me up saying that he was going to check me out, it was very unexpected. He’s told me all about his past and how he develops his running backs. It’s a special offer.
“I really started liking that school when Kyren Williams was there. I liked watching him play. There’s something about that school I really like. With Coach McCullough and his journey, I really like him.”
Notre Dame is a school that Robinson is getting more familiar with as he talks to McCullough and conducts his own research on the football program. He’s been wanting to get up on a campus visit.
“(McCullough) asked me if he we could set up a visit, and I told him, ‘Yeah, let’s do it,’” Robinson said. “He beat me to that question.”
Robinson hasn’t known McCullough for more than a couple weeks, and they’ve already connected well.
“He’s an outgoing guy and will tell you the truth,” said Robinson. “He’ll make you better. He’s a really good coach.”
The rising senior prospect is in no rush to make a college commitment.
“That’s a good question. If I feel really good about a school, I could get that stress off me before my senior season,” he said. “But it’s something I’m still process and trying to figure it out.”
