SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE
— The Gamecocks netted two more commitments on Saturday, including four-star Virginia DB Shamari Earls. The other has yet to be revealed.
— Five-star OL David Sanders continued his official visit on Saturday night with a trip to Williams-Brice Stadium for the game. He’ll have more important face time with staff on Sunday. The Gamecocks are battling Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee here.
— USC offered 2026 Georgia LB Rodney Colton during his trip on Saturday.
Interestingly, he said that he’s been wanting a Gamecock offer since his freshman season. He watched Dylan Stewart closely tonight and said that he studied tape of former Gamecocks Jaycee Horn and Cam Smith.
He told GamecockCentral.com that USC is at the “top” for him.
— Irmo WR Donovan Murph on the visit last night:
“What stood out to me was the interactions with Coach Beamer and his players you can really tell he loves his guys.”
— On3’s Steve Wiltfong caught up with a host of visiting prospects, which he reported on here.
Here’s a breakout of what prospects told him:
2025 KY OL Isaac Sowells: “The environment for spring game was crazy. Usually spring games aren’t as packed but they had a pretty good crowd. Just the connection with the staff and them always letting me know that I’m a priority to them excites me about my potential future there.”
2025 SC OL Shed Sarratt: “The atmosphere was amazing. I love how the coaches keep in touch. I love how it’s not that far from home.”
2025 GA OL Jacobe Ward: “The environment was crazy! There were a lot of fans today and that’s just at a spring game! The fans showed a lot of love even to the recruits! South Carolina has always showed love towards me and my family and I love that about them! I’ve had very good relationships with them since the eighth grade and they were the first school to show interest in me so it will always be love for them!”
2025 SC DB AJ Brand: “I loved it. It was great, the spring game was awesome!”
2025 MD DB Jayden Shipps: “The environment was great! Especially for a spring game! It was just good vibes with everyone and everywhere! What excites me is what they’re building up here! They take care of there players up here.”
2026 GA WR Aaron Gregory: “This was my first time meeting Coach (Mike) Furrey. So getting to talk with him about what he’s looking for and how he develops his wideouts was good. We talked about some things he wants to see from me or for me to continue to improve on. Overall great visit.”
2026 SC WR Jordon Gidron: “The environment at South Carolina was energetic as always! The fans were out tailgating before the game and came to support the team. What excites me is that you can tell relationships are important at South Carolina and that matters. Coach (Mike) Furrey reminds me that SC is home!
2026 Virginia OL Darius Gray: “The environment was great. Everyone in Columbia is excited for what Coach Beamer is doing to the program and how they are all heading in the right direction! Everything excites me. It’s hard to find what they have at any other school and I can’t wait for them to really get things going!”
