Notre Dame forward Carey Booth commits to Illinois out of transfer portal
Notre Dame transfer Carey Booth has committed to Illinois, he announced on his Instagram account on Tuesday night.
Booth spent just one season with the Fighting Irish, averaging 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while seeing 19.9 minutes per contest. Booth checks in at 6 foot 10, offering excellent size.
In addition to his contributions as a scorer and rebounder, Booth also contributed the occasional other stats. He recorded 21 blocks, 15 assists and seven steals during his action at Notre Dame.
Booth played in 33 games, starting 19 of them as a true freshman.
He has considerable upside, particularly if he can improve his shooting numbers. At 6 foot 10, Booth is capable of stepping out to the 3-point line and shooting it.
He hoisted up 118 attempts this season, though he only hit at a 29.7% clip. Get that number up a bit and he suddenly becomes quite deadly.
Suffice it to say Brad Underwood and company at Illinois will be pleased with the new transfer addition.
On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
