Top-100 TE Andrew Olesh prepares for first Miami visit for spring game, “really high” on Hurricanes so far

CaneSport has already confirmed a number of top-100 2025 prospects will be in attendance for Miami’s spring game Saturday, including top-100 four-star tight end Andrew Olesh, who will make his first trip to Coral Gables.

Olesh, the No. 87 overall prospect in the On300, No. 4 tight end in the 2025 class and No. 4 overall prospect in Pennsylvania, will visit Miami for the first time Saturday after roughly three months of communication. Olesh received two in-school visits from Miami tight ends coach Cody Woodiel during the January contact period and received his Miami offer Feb. 2 and said it was “very important” to both sides for Olesh to make the trip to South Florida at some point.

“I’m thinking really highly (of Miami) so far,” Olesh said. “I haven’t been there or anything yet, but I am looking forward to making the stop and seeing what they have to bring to the table. I want to make sure they have a system I’ll fit into, and then obviously I want a winning program. Obviously I want the team to win, but at the same time I want to contribute. I’m looking for good offensive plays, seeing how I can help the team and looking for a good relationship with all of the coaches.”

Olesh said he plans to drop a top eight April 15, the Monday following Miami’s spring game, and believes the Hurricanes “could sneak in there easily” depending how this weekend shakes out. He has scheduled official visits with Michigan and Penn State, who have been among the programs recruiting him hardest, but believes he could be interested in taking an official visit to Miami as well if things continue to progress.

He’ll also be looking to see how strong of a connection he has with Miami’s coaching staff this weekend, too.

“Relationships with the coaches is going to be one of the huge things for me,” Olesh said. “I’m not a huge portal guy, so if I go somewhere, I want it to be somewhere where I can be comfortable for the next three or four years. Then one more thing I want to see (at Miami) is education. I’ve heard Miami has a really good educational system, so that’s another good thing about them. Those are some of the things I’m going to be looking for.”

CaneSport’s Take

We’re now particularly curious to see what Miami ends up doing at tight end with four-star Luka Gilbert now committed and the Hurricanes doing particularly well with several other big-name prospects, including four-star tight end Brock Schott.
