Elite 4-star safety JaDon Blair locks in pair of ACC official visits
At the beginning of March, Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor four-star safety JaDon Blair trimmed his list of top schools down to 10. The wave of programs are neck-and-neck with each other, trying to separate as Blair continues to work through his recruitment.
Louisville and Florida State are two of those 10 programs. Both have now joined a lengthy official visit schedule for Blair. Officials to the Cardinals (April 17) and Seminoles (June 18) are now on the docket, according to The Wolverine’s EJ Holland.
Blair is set to kick off his OVs this weekend with a trip to Virginia Tech. South Carolina (May 31), Notre Dame (June 11), Michigan (June 14) and Penn State (June 21) are also set to get the 6-foot-4, 180-pounder back on campus. A July 5 decision is expected for the blue-chipper.
Other schools in Blair’s top 10 include Maryland, Miami and Wake Forest. He said this of his latest cut last month to On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons:
“These are my top 10 schools is because of the way they have been recruiting me and the way they have been keeping in contact with me. There’s not really a day where I don’t hear from these schools.”
Plenty of programs battling at the top for Blair
Blair is also expecting to shorten his list once more before eventually coming to a decision. March saw trips to Michigan and Penn State for the Tar Heel State product, while he opened April with a trip to Notre Dame.
“When I make the next cut, I’m going with my gut feeling at that point,” Blair said. “That’s going to be from how great my relationship is with the coaches, how good I feel with them and how comfortable I feel around them. That all plays a role when I make that next cut to my top five.”
The Nittany Lions are currently trending for Blair in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but it’s by a small margin with Va Tech, Notre Dame and South Carolina all right behind. Official visits will likely tell the tale for one of the top defensive backs in the nation.
Blair is the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 12 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 ranks Blair higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 43 overall and is the No. 2 safety and No. 3 player in North Carolina in the updated 2025 On300.
