2024 CB Kal-El Pascal Receives Kentucky Offer, Starting to Set Up Official Visits
Kal-El Pascal, a class of 2024 cornerback out of Florida, became one of the latest to receive an offer from Kentucky, announcing a scholarship from the program on Monday night.
The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back from Dr. Michael M. Krop (Miami, FL) told KSR+ that he was “surprised” by the offer.
“The rest of my offers are from the ACC and those types of schools,” Pascal said. “For an SEC school to find interest in me and give me that offer was shocking.”
This was the first time Pascal has heard from the coaches at Kentucky and said he “honestly doesn’t really know much about the school.”
However, that may change soon as he plans to visit this summer for a camp. On a visit, Pascal has a long list of things he’ll be paying attention to.
“[I’ll be looking at] the trainers, the athletic trainers, the coaches, how the coaches relationships are with the players, how can I fit in if I go to the school, the environment, the team, the brotherhood, how does the team act towards each other, how much respect do the players give the coaches and each other,” he said.
The next steps for Pascal are to cut his list and narrow down to a decision.
“I’m planning to drop my top five or top six schools by the end of this month or by the end of spring football,” he said. “I’m going to commit before the season starts or a week into the season.”
His Wider Recruitment
Kal-El Pascal is currently hearing from the likes of Miami, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Arkansas State, and Pittsburgh, among others.
“It’s been just shocking. I’m the first person in my family and from my school to receive attention like this,” Pascal said. “It’s really mind-opening and hard because of the decisions that I have to make going into my senior year. With every move that I make, I have to be cautious because you never know who’s watching because of all the attention on me.”
Pascal has already taken visits to Georgia Tech, Miami, FAU, FIU, and Maryland. Later this month, he will take a trip to Florida State.
“That’s the only one I have planned for this month,” he said. “I’m starting to set up my official visits for this summer.”
As far as future official visits, Pascal is looking to travel to Georgia Tech, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Arkansas State.
“The things that are important that I’m looking into is how I can fit into the program,” he said. “If I do go to your school, what am I getting out of it? How am I benefiting you guys?”
Kal-El Pascal’s Game
Class of 2024 cornerback Kal-El Pascal of Dr. Michael M. Krop (Fl.) is currently unranked by On3, but is rated as a three-star recruit in the nation by 247Sports.
Pascal said his greatest strength is getting off the hash and tracking the ball.
“I feel like I come downhill to make a play very well,” he said. “I’m willing to make my teammates better in every aspect. I can be an older brother or a younger sibling to my teammates so that they can look up to me and find things that I do and apply it to their game.”
Moving forward, Pascal wants to improve at his eye discipline.
“I’ve seen I’ve lacked in some areas,” he said. “During a play, I was caught not looking at my man, so I’m looking to improve that.”
Most of all, Pascal wants to let fans know that when he commits, he will always be there for his program.
“If they are getting me, they’re getting a fan of them too,” he said. “I’m always going to be there for them. The school that I go to, I’m always committed to. I’m never going to leave by their side. I’m going to be in my community and I’m very big on community. My community has to have my back and I’ll have my community’s back.”
