Michigan OT commit Ben Roebuck dives deep on multiple 2024 recruits

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive tackle commit Ben Roebuck is one of the most active player recruiters on Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class since making his decision in late-March.

Set to officially visit Ann Arbor on June 16th, Roebuck’s efforts to pitch top Michigan targets have been made both both in-person and over the phone, which features a trio of fellow Ohio natives, as well as two players at his position, a Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day wide receiver, a Top 100 running back and four-star defensive back.

Michigan is No. 5 overall in the 2024 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings and are tied for first with the most verbal commitments (16) in the 2024 class, including five offensive linemen.

On Sunday, at the Under Armour Next+ Camp Series, Roebuck spoke to The Wolverine about the recruits he’s in communication with and makes the case on why each athlete should join him and the 15 other pledges at Michigan.

EDGE Brian Robinson, Austintown (Ohio) Fitch

Roebuck’s Pitch: “We went up against Brian (Robinson) in our scrimmage before week one. He knows that I love him and we have to make it happen. Go Blue, Brian, come on baby.”

OT Bennett Warren, Fort Bend (Tex.) Christian Academy

Roebuck’s Pitch: “We already got Blake (Frazier) from Texas. We need you Bennett (Warren), another Texas boy up in Ann Arbor.”

WR Jordan Shipp, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day

Roebuck’s Take: I think both Jordan (Shipp) and Channing (Goodwin) could be the next great (Michigan) wide receivers. We already have Jadyn (Davis) here so why not keep the trio going?”

CB Bryce West, Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville

Roebuck’s Pitch: “We know that we already have some great defensive backs. (Bryce West) has speed, he’s athletic and he would be a great fit for us (at Michigan). We have to make it happen.”

IOL Max Anderson, Frisco (Tex.) Reedy

Roebuck’s Pitch: “I know that Max (Anderson) and Blake are best friends. Let’s keep that relationship going at Michigan.”

RB Taylor Tatum, Longview (Tex.) High

Roebuck’s Pitch: “We already got Jordan Marshall. Him and Taylor (Tatum) could be the next Michigan running back duo like Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum.”

N Boo Carter, Chattanooga (Tenn.) Brainerd

Roebuck’s Pitch: “Boo!! We want Boo (Carter), come on, he has to make the move.”

CB Aaron Scott Jr., Springfield (Ohio) High

Roebuck’s Pitch: “Aaron (Scott), you know I love you, sorry for the past couple of years with us winning the state championship (laughs). But we can go win together at Michigan.”
