Kentucky offers Utah tackle transfer Tyler Knaak

Kentucky offers Utah tackle transfer Tyler Knaak

Kentucky’s search for a transfer offensive tackle is not over yet. On Thursday afternoon, another option emerged when former Utah tackle Tyler Knaak received a verbal scholarship offer from Kentucky.

Head coach Mark Stoops, offensive coordinator Liam Coen, and offensive line coach Zach Yenser are looking to address a position that is down to six scholarship tackles following the departures of Deondre Buford and David Wohlabaugh Jr. at the beginning of this week.

Tyler Knaak (6-7, 306) did not see game action in his first and only season with Kyle Whittingham‘s Utah program. The Cottonwood Heights (Utah) Brighton product was a class of 2022 recruit that signed and enrolled early with the in-state Utes. A former low three-star recruit, Knaak picked Utah over Arizona State, Oregon State, USC, and Virginia.

Since entering the transfer portal on April 27, Knaak has received verbal scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Hawaii, Liberty, Nevada, Old Dominion, UMass, and Utah State. UK became the transfer prospect’s first Power Five offer.

Expect Kentucky to try and get Knaak to Lexington on an official visit soon. Per KSR’s count, Kentucky has 80 scholarships accounted for on the 2023 roster. The Wildcats have room to add five transfers before the season begins.
