LSU hits the road looking to flip SEC commit

LSU Football continues to hit the recruiting trail hard, looking at some top targets across the country. On Wednesday, the Tigers were looking at a flip target.

Alabama commit and Mobile (Ala.) Christian linebacker Sterling Dixon, a prospect LSU feels can play a similar role to Harold Perkins, got a visit from defensive coordinator Matt House.

Auburn and LSU are giving Dixon a lot to think about when it comes to his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Both sets of Tigers have hosted him since his commitment to Alabama in December.

On3 ranks Dixon as the No. 102 overall prospect in the country and No. 8 linebacker in the nation. LSU’s hoping to get him back on campus again soon.

House sees another key LSU target

House also checked in on 2024 Theodore (Ala.) linebacker Cameron Pruitt, a top target for LSU. The Tigers are looking to make headway with the four-star prospect.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Pruitt ranks as the No. 399 overall prospect in the country and No. 39 linebacker in the nation. Miami leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Additional schools in the mix are Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Ole Miss among others.

During the 2022 season, Pruitt recorded 99 tackles (31 solo), 15 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery.
