Oregon LB Target Kamar Mothudi Recaps Spring Game
The Ducks have the ability to recruit nationally. But while doing that it’s also important for them to keep the best talent out West close to home.
Campbell Hall (Calif.) star backer Kamar Mothudi falls into this category. Oregon has prioritized the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder early in the 2024 cycle. Mothudi checks in as the No. 241 ranked player nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings.
The four-star spoke to me about his trip and the highlights of his return visit to Eugene.
“My mom and I flew into Eugene Friday morning,” Mothudi told ScoopDuck. “We went straight to the facilities to experience a slew of activities. The staff took us on a tour of everything from housing to the academic center.
My mom loved everything as well. She’s really excited for what my future may hold.”
As you’d expect, Mothudi spent a lot of time with several Oregon coaches.
“I had the opportunity to spend quality time with Head Coach Dan Lanning, Defensive Coordinator Tosh Lupoi and Linebacker Coach Brian Michalowski. Coach Michalowski and I actually went through film and broke down schematics. The night ended with a recruits dinner hosted by the coaches and photos.”
His Saturday was even better than the Friday he spent in Eugene.
“The next day was the Spring Game. There’s was an electrifying energy as soon as we arrived. We sat in on team meetings, engaged with fans and joined the team on the field. It was a very hot day but the excitement was like no other. The game was definitely a highlight of the weekend for me because it got me hyped to play college ball.”
As you’d expect, the visit to Oregon was a huge hit with a top defensive target.
“Overall, the weekend surpassed my expectations and I really enjoyed being amongst such elite talent.”
While Oregon sits in a good spot with Mothudi, he remains committed to seeing other options.
“As for my upcoming trips, I will be visiting Oregon State, Utah, Washington, Cal Berkeley, and Oregon again in June.”
Oregon is currently the leader for the four-star backer in the On3 RPM. The Ducks sit at 97% chance at landing Mothudi in the 2024 cycle.
