2025 Safety Jotavion Pierce Reacts to Kentucky Offer, Plans to Visit ‘In a Couple Weeks’
On the heels of his recent offer from Kentucky, Jotavion Pierce, a class of 2025 defensive back out of Alabama, is expected to visit Lexington soon.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory (Montgomery, AL) announced an offer from Kentucky on Thursday and told KSR+ that he plans to visit campus “in a couple weeks.”
“It’s kind of like family,” Pierce said. “I want to see what they really love about me and really get to know them.”
Pierce said that the staff at Kentucky has been in contact since his freshman year, mainly safeties coach Frank Buffano and offensive line coach Zach Yenser.
“I feel like it’s home,” Pierce said. “It’s a place that I see myself going to in the future, even though I have two more years until I graduate. That could be a place I could go.”
As far as scheme, Pierce sees Kentucky as a good option for players in the secondary.
“I see a lot of guys come out of Kentucky to go to the draft,” he said. “I see myself playing a good role at Kentucky.”
Ahead of an upcoming visit, Pierce heaped praise on the UK program.
“I’m really in love with Kentucky,” he said. “I think it’s a place for me in the future.”
His Wider Recruitment
Jotavion Pierce is currently hearing the most from Auburn, UAB, Alabama State, Marshall, South Carolina, and Kentucky, noting that his recruitment has picked up in recent weeks. His only visit thus far has been a trip to Troy.
“It’s been a journey,” Pierce said of the recruiting process. “I see myself growing each time I get an offer. I see myself growing. It allows me to keep pushing myself and move forward.”
In addition to an upcoming trip to Kentucky, Pierce said he’s also planning visits to Clemson, North Carolina, LSU, South Carolina, UAB, and Florida.
“Who really wants me, basically,” Pierce said. “[I want] the best coaching staff, just great people around me in general.”

Moving forward, Pierce said he wants to get better at “tracking the ball more, being a good tackler, and having good vision.”
