4-star LB Jonah Williams reacts to SMU offer

2025 Galveston (Tex.) Ball linebacker Jonah Williams is already one of the top prospects in the country and now holds an SMU offer. The Dallas program is one he wants to check out after earning the offer.
“I was very blessed to receive an offer SMU. SMU was one of the first colleges I wanted to offer me so that was a great experience,” Williams told On3. “I think they’re gonna be a pretty big school by the time I graduate. I think it’s an overall nice college.”
Safeties coach and special teams coordinator Kyle Cooper extended the offer to him and Cooper’s excitement drew the 6-3, 200-pounder in.
“He is a cool coach! Very excited when offering me so that was great,” Williams said. “He said he’s really excited about having me come see campus and he sees a bright future to uphold at SMU.”
Houston, Texas and Texas A&M have hosted the four-star prospect for visits this spring already, but SMU is one that could get a visit in the future. He wants to visit all the colleges that’ve offered him.
“A college that makes me a better man above playing football,” Williams said of his priorities when choosing a college.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Williams ranks as the No. 30 overall prospect in the country, No. 2 linebacker in the nation and No. 4 prospect in Texas. Texas leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over Texas A&M for Williams.
