Nebraska extends offer to 2027 QB during spring game weekend in Lincoln

Nebraska extends offer to 2027 QB during spring game weekend in Lincoln

The spring game was a big recruiting weekend for Nebraska. On top of having some of the best 2024 recruits in the nation the top 2027 quarterback was also in Lincoln. Furian Inferrera is a name that Nebraska fans need to get to know. The talented eighth grader, you read that right, is currently transferring from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. On Friday, the talented quarterback picked up an offer from Nebraska.

After a great conversation with @CoachMattRhule I’m blessed and honored to receive an ffer from the University of Nebraska!

“I came in on Friday morning,” Inferrera said. “I took a tour, met with the coaching staff, met with coach Rhule, and that is when I got the offer on Friday.”

Recruiting attention has started early for Furian Inferrera

When Inferrera was leaving Nebraska on Saturday night he was thinking about a pending transfer. Inferrera is leaving Las Vegas and is California bound.

“This week, I am leaving Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and getting ready to transfer to Mater Dei. I am finishing up eighth grade and will be there for my freshman year.”

Nebraska adds their name to a couple of other schools who have already offered Inferrera. Inferrera is still playing out the moment that Nebraska offered in his mind.

“I have three offers right now, Inferrera said. “In seventh grade, I got offers from Pitt and Utah Tech. This weekend I got the offer from Nebraska. It was such a blessing to be sitting down next to Coach Rhule in the team room and get the offer.

“It’s a super program, and I am so grateful to them. I love the family atmosphere and the competitiveness. It was amazing to get the offer.”

Talking to the Nebraska staff and checking out what Nebraska has to offer

Inferrera got measured and weighed in Lincoln this past weekend coming in at 6-foot-3 187-pounds. He had a great chance to sit down with coach Satterfield and talk shop.

“I had a chance to sit down with the offensive coordinator, and we talked about some coverages and schemes. We also talked about some quarterbacks.”

There was an opportunity for Inferrera to take a look around at the current new facilities this past weekend. He liked the old facilities, but is blown away by the plan for the new facilities.

“The current facilities are really nice, and the new facilities are still under construction. Nebraska is spending $160 million on their new facility. We saw part of it and saw some diagrams. I am excited about it. It will be state of the art.”

Furian Inferrera can’t believe the fan support at Nebraska

Following the unity march on Saturday morning, Inferrera and his family made their way down to the field. He couldn’t believe the fan support for a spring game scrimmage. He also watched the quarterbacks closely during the game.

“On Saturday, we headed over early to the facilities,” Inferrera said. “We saw the unity march before the game, and then we headed down to the field for the game. It was amazing to see the stadium. The fans really love their football team, and the support was breathtaking. They had 66,000 fans come out. I was blown away.

“I thought the game was great for the quarterbacks and how everyone is meshing together. I think that they did great, and they were competitive.”

There are some ties for Inferrera already at Nebraska. Inferrera’s family is from Hawaii and knows the Raiola’s very well including the No. 1 quarterback in the country, Dylan Raiola. Inferrera’s father, Daniel, is incredibly close with Nebraska offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.

Furian is a 4.0 student and is the No. 1 rated student in his class.
