How it Happened: Tennessee smacks Bellarmine for 19-1 midweek victory

Tennessee homered six times in the ballgame and scored in all but one trip to the plate en route to the 19-1 midweek win over Bellarmine Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Vols (27-14) plated a run in the first, two in the three innings and four in the three innings that proceeded, plating the 19 runs off 19 hits. The Knights (11-30) plated their lone run of the ballgame in the eighth inning on a solo home run from Dylan Byerly. Bellarmine scored one run off three total hits in the loss.

Jacob Bimbi (2-0) picked up the win, tossing a scoreless 1.2 innings as the first pitcher out of the bullpen. Matt Craven (1-3) is charged with the loss after giving up three runs on six hits in a pair of innings on the mound.

Tennessee returns to the diamond on Thursday to begin a three-game Southeastern Conference set with Mississippi State, but first, how did this one happen for the Volunteers?
