The 6-foot-3.5, 280-pounder with an 82-inch wingspan and quick feet is planning to make three official visits prior to deciding before his senior season.
Ivy, the No. 104 ranked prospect in the 2024 cycle, is very likely to decide between LSU, Texas A&M and Texas with official visits being planned.
“Right now, I’m fixing to start taking a couple of officials,” Ivy told On3 Tuesday. “Definitely get a couple more in the summer, and probably make my decision at the end of the summer.”
Ivy isn’t planning to wait to take official visits in June, he’s got two in the works for the end of April and early May.
“To Texas A&M, and then I’m getting LSU set up too. Texas A&M is either next weekend, or the week after that. LSU is also going to be around that time.”
LSU
Ivy on LSU: “It’s Louisiana, so it’s all cray and fun there. Grew up going there a lot, so it would be like going home. I have family that went to school in Louisiana. I was there two or three weeks ago. Coach (Brian) Kelly was like come home, and all that.”
Ivy on Brad Davis: “Brad Davis is cool. He’s just like that coach that is going to be there for you all the time. He’s like your friend and coach. He’s a funny guy. We joke around.”
Texas A&M
Ivy on Texas A&M: “It’s big in Texas. If you grow up in Texas, you definitely know Texas A&M. They definitely want to win. Definitely like the speed of it. Practice is fast, and quick. The speed of the game is fast. I was up there last for a spring practice. Coach Jimbo (Fisher) was talking to me about the others schools, and committing. They are recruiting me to play guard.”
Ivy on Steve Addazio: “Definitely like Coach Addazio. How he is. He’s straight forward, and not going to hide anything. Definitely like how he coaches.”
Texas
Ivy on Texas: “It’s been a couple of months since I was there (for the January Junior Day). I definitely have to get back up there and see everything again. I still have to set up a visit there (in June). Texas is serious, definitely. Fun and fast.”
Ivy on Kyle Flood: “I love Coach Flood. We always talk. He’s very cool. He talks to me about my life, and I definitely like that.”
Ivy’s mom and dad were college athletes. His mom ran track in college in the state of Louisiana. He plans to major in business. Ivy competed in the shot put this spring with a personal best of 48’0″.
