4-star CB Miles Lockhart sets official visit to Big Ten program
Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star cornerback Miles Lockhart has already scheduled an official visit to Ohio State for the weekend of June 24. He will also be taking an official to another Big Ten program.
Lockhart has locked in an official visit to Wisconsin from June 2-4. He was recently in Madison on April 20 to watch the Badgers’ spring practice.
“I really like their new staff that has come in,” Lockhart told On3. “I really think that they are going to develop their players and make a Wisconsin a Big Ten contender every year like they used to be. The city of Madison is also very pretty and there are many things to do. The people are nice as well. The whole vibe I got from my visit there was great and that’s why I set up my official.”
Lockhart is the No. 327 overall prospect and No. 33 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Arizona.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes have a commanding lead for his commitment at 96.6%. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back will be committing on July 6.
In addition to Ohio State and Wisconsin, Lockhart previously shared with On3 that he will take official visits to Oregon and Utah.
Lockhart discusses three of his contenders
Last month, Lockhart discussed his interest in Ohio State, Oregon and Utah. He has previously visited all three programs unofficially.
Ohio State: “What keeps me going back to Ohio State is that home feeling. They bring so much to the table. I like the love they show me, how strong the program is and with them recruiting me hard, I have to keep getting back. I talk to Tim Walton a lot and coach (Jim) Knowles a good bit. It is just a good feeling for me with Ohio State.”
Oregon: “My teammate Cole Martin is there, his dad coaches there and it is a place I really like. I have been there twice and I like the coaches, the environment and what the coaches do.”
Utah: “I just love Utah. I always say it, but they are just different. They develop their guys. Utah may not get all the four-and-five-stars, but they coach their players up and develop their players. That stands out. Their defense is always strong too.”
