Pac-12 Conference announces Oregon State AD Scott Barnes suffered ‘medical event’ Saturday night

The Pac-12 Conference announced some harrowing news regarding Oregon State Athletic Director Scott Barnes on Sunday morning.

According to a press release sent out by the conference, Barnes suffered a “medical event” on Saturday. He’s now receiving medical attention in Fresno, California, and the Pac-12 made sure to relay that their thoughts are with him.

“The Pac-12 released the following statement on April 22, 2023 on Oregon State Athletic Director Scott Barnes,” the release read. “Oregon State announced that Barnes experienced a medical event Saturday night while attending a Fresno State athletics awards presentation in Fresno, Calif and is receiving medical care at a Fresno area hospital.

“‘Scott Barnes is a dear friend, trusted colleague and incredibly loved man across the Oregon State and Pac-12 families and the entire college sports community. Our thoughts are with Scott and his family at this time.’”
