Recruiting Humidor: Latest on Portal talk, Texas trending with targets, and 2025 WR to watch
Inside Texas dives into NCAA Transfer Portal talk, Texas trending with targets heading into June, and a 2025 wide receiver to watch in the Humidor.
Bear Alexander, DL, Georgia via Denton (Texas) Ryan
Despite the Georgia transfer listing Texas among teams “he has had contact with,” we do not expect Texas to pursue Alexander. USC is, and has been. Miami is, and Oregon is or has been.
With Trill Carter added to the mix to go with veterans T’Vondre Sweat, Byron Murphy, Alfred Collins, Vernon Broughton, Sydir Mitchell and Aaron Bryant, the Longhorns are very happy with where they sit entering next season.
Christian Clark, RB, Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe
The On3 four-star locked in his Texas official on June 16-18, and will visit Georgia on June 23-25, and USC on May 19-21.
Texas remains the leader in this recruitment. USC is going to try their best to unseat Texas with the early OV. Georgia likes Clark, but also would love to flip Florida commit Chauncey Bowens.
Alex January, DL, Duncanville (Texas)
January is set to see Texas again in the official capacity in late June. After his officials, January will likely make a decision in July.
Texas remains the pace car in this recruitment.
More on defensive line recruiting:
On the defensive line, Texas will battle Mississippi State and maybe Alabama for 4-star Terrance Hibbler. Defensive line coach Bo Davis was by the school this week. Texas will battle Texas A&M and possibly Notre Dame for TJ Lindsey, and Florida and Miami for 4-star D’antre Robinson. Inside Texas also believes IMG Academy 2024 DL Jayden Jackson could end up on the June 23-25 OV list. He’s been a possible for the 16-18 too.
Daniel Cruz, OL, Richland Hills (Texas) North Richland Hills
Nothing has changed with Texas and Cruz. Cruz will make June visits to Ohio State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma prior to Texas. This remains the Longhorns recruitment to lose.
More on offensive line recruiting:
Texas knows they have some key battles on the offensive line in June. It’s Texas vs. LSU and maybe Georgia for Ory Williams, Texas vs Penn State and maybe Georgia for Nyier Daniels, Texas vs Texas A&M for Makai Saina and Texas vs Georgia and Bama for Daniel Calhoun.
Player to Watch: Adrian Wilson, WR, Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss – 2025
The attention around the Cen-Tex prospect is growing. Texas hosted the 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect recently and he loved the trip.
Wilson wants to get closer to Texas WR coach Chris Jackson and an offer would put UT over the top.
