Florida Gators still in the mix for Georgia commit Jadon Perlotte following ‘really good’ visit
Multiple highly-regarded 2025 linebackers made their way to the University of Florida on Saturday. One of them is currently committed elsewhere.
Representing Buford (Ga.) High, All-American Jadon Perlotte made a commitment to Georgia back in December. That pledge remains very strong as well; however, with graduation nearly two years away, the four-star linebacker is keeping the door cracked open and making his rounds.
Earlier today, the journey continued when Perlotte met with the Gators for the second time. His first trip to Gainesville took place last June and it resulted in a scholarship offer.
“It went really good,” Perlotte told Gators Online. “I came down with my boys. We saw the facilities and walked around. Coach Bateman, the linebackers coach, showed a lot of love. He keeps in touch with me a lot. We always talk to each other. He helped coach my head coach, so we kind of have ties going back. He’s been up there to watch me a couple of times as well.”
Another strong relationship Perlotte has at the Swamp is with the head man himself; in fact, that connection played a major role in him returning to campus in the first place.
“It’s good. He’s a real cool guy,” Perlotte said of his relationship with Napier. “He relates to the players a lot. I talk to him on a regular basis. He’s basically keeping Florida in it for me.”
While on campus, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound sophomore connected with defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong as well. That bond is going to strengthen over time, but thankfully for both parties, there was already some familiarity in place prior to today’s visit.
“When he was at Alabama, I went up there and met him,” Perlotte said. “He is a real good guy and knows what he’s talking about. Ever since he’s been at Florida, I’ve stayed in touch with him. It’s just relationships.”
On-campus renovations surpassed expectations of Perlotte
All in all, what about today’s visit with the Gators grasped Perlotte’s attention the most?
“I liked the new facility,” Perlotte said. “The last time I was there, they were building the facility and walking through with hard hats. When we walked through housing, it looked like just how they said it was going to look like. It’s amazing; it was something I’ve never seen before.”
According to the 2025 On300 rankings, Perlotte is the No. 4 linebacker and No. 45 prospect in his class. Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, Texas and USC are some schools that have offered as well.
However, as grateful as he is for every offer, Perlotte says his heart remains in Athens. He communicates with the reigning national champions on a daily basis, with that consistent love starting at the very top.
“I talk to Georgia every day,” Perlotte said. “Me and coach Smart, we are really close. I was just down there on Thursday.”
