Bear Alexander planning to enter transfer portal
The second window of the transfer portal opened on Saturday, and Georgia already has its first victim. Rising sophomore defensive lineman Bear Alexander tells Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he plans to enter the portal after spending just one season in Athens.
Alexander, a 6-foot-3, 305 native of Texas, played in 12 games this past season. He totaled nine tackles including three for loss with a pair of sacks. Two of the tackles for loss including one of the sacks came in Georgia’s National Championship Game win over TCU to close out the season.
Alexander’s departure is the 11th of the offseason for Georgia joining the 10 that did so during the first open period. He is the second defensive lineman to enter the portal joining Bill Norton, who landed at Arizona. The Bulldogs also lost Jalen Carter and Shone Washington from last year’s defensive line group but added a pair of talented players in the Class of 2023, Jordan Hall and Jamaal Jarrett.
