On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Oregon trending for athlete Aaron Butler
Georgia was the presumed favorite to land a commitment from Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler since the beginning of the new year.
However, a new favorite has emerged in Butler’s recruitment.
Following recent industry updates and a prediction from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, Oregon is trending to land a commitment from Butler according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
The Ducks now hold a 50.9% percent chance of securing Butlers’ commitment with Georgia sitting not too far off at 36.5%. Butler recently visited Oregon on April 6 and Simmons logged his prediction with a confidence level of 50% Thursday morning.
“I’m told by a source that he had a “very good” visit to Eugene and that the Ducks will receive an OV,” Simmons said of his decision to log a prediction for Oregon on ScoopDuck.
Ahead of his visit to Eugene, Butler talked with Simmons and noted that he was excited to meet Will Stein, Junior Adams and Dan Lanning during the visit.
“Coach Lanning was at my school to check on me in January and I know he really wants me,” Butler told On3. “Oregon is recruiting me hard and I want to really see what they are all about on this next visit.”
Aaron Butler is the No. 86 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 4 athlete and the No. 10 recruit in California.
