Michigan hosted yet another massive 2024 offensive line target this weekend.

On300 Fort Bend (Texas) Christian offensive lineman Bennett Warren made his first ever trip to Ann Arbor and was extremely impressed with the program.

“It was a really good visit,” Warren said. “I came a day early to be around Coach (Sherrone) Moore. They set a schedule, so I could be around the guys and learn what Michigan is all about. That was definitely a big help. I got to see a lot of the 2024 commits as well and make friends with them. They were all great people to be around. Michigan is definitely a top contender.”

Warren kept a close eye on the Michigan offensive line throughout the spring game and sees himself as a ‘really good fit.’

Of course, Michigan has had plenty of success upfront. With Sherrone Moore at the helm, the Wolverines have won back-to-back Joe Moore Awards. And that’s something that really resonated with Warren during his visit.

“When I first came into the weight room and saw the Joe Moore Award, I was sitting there staring at it,” Warren said. “I was like ‘dude, I want to win one of these at some point in my life. I want to be part of an offensive line that’s as great as these guys.’ They have a really great bond at Michigan. They’re all going to be seniors this year, and you can tell they’ve all grown together. That’s something I’m seeing in the 2024 class with the commits they have. They all vibe well together. You have to play as a unit to win the Joe Moore Award.”

Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore has been making Warren a priority since visiting him in the Lone Star State this winter. The two strengthened their bond over the weekend.

“I talked to him a lot,” Warren said. “We had a lot of fun and messed around. We did talk ball a little bit. We got to sit down and watched some film. I learned about his style of coaching and got to see their plays. We run very similar types of plays at my high school. It would be easy to get the playbook down if I were to go there.”

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh also made a big impression.

“Talking to Coach Harbaugh and seeing how cool of a person he was really stood out,” Warren said. “Sadly, my mom didn’t get to come with me. He told me to get my mom in the phone, and we sat in the office and talked for like 40 minutes. It shows the character of Coach Harbaugh. He’s an outgoing person. It’s not just football and we want you here. He came out and ate pizza with me. He was just really nice to be around.”

So where does Michigan stand coming out of the visit?

“They stand very, very high,” Warren said. “I just like the brotherhood they have. Before I went there, I was on the phone with Coach Moore, and he told me ‘trust me, I can’t tell you. You just have to see it for yourself.’ When I saw it for myself, there is definitely good reason as to why I’m keeping Michigan high on my list.”

Warren has summer official visits set with Oregon and Oklahoma. He is also mapping out official visits with Michigan and Texas. He hopes to make a decision late in the summer or early in the fall.

At 6-foot-7, 330 pounds, Warren is ranked as the No. 11 offensive tackle and No. 170 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
