Who’s next? Predicting the next three Ohio State commitments in the 2025 cycle
COLUMBUS — Ohio State’s 2025 class doubled in size Monday morning. Three-star Cocoa (Fla) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs committed to the Buckeyes in a bit of a surprise. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver chose Ohio State over Florida, Penn State, Miami and others.
There’s always the question of who’s next. One commitment is never enough for some, but getting gifts doesn’t happen every day on the recruiting trail.
Lettermen Row looks at who the next three commitments in the 2025 class could be for the Buckeyes.
ICYMI: Monday Recap: Ohio State earns a new commitment and a busy day on the trail
Carter Lowe
Four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe could very well be nearing the end of his recruitment sooner than most people thought. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle from Northwest Ohio made his second game-day visit to Ohio State over the weekend. That is significant when the Buckeyes’ main competition is Michigan.
According to a few sources, the Buckeyes’ effort — led by both head coach Ryan Day and offensive line coach Justin Frye — has really ramped up. Ohio State has the lead in this recruitment as of now, overtaking Michigan.
Edward Coleman
Savannah (Ga) Calvary Day wide receiver Edward Coleman made his debut visit to Ohio State over the weekend and that one visit could have been enough to show him why to stay.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Peach State prospect spoke extensively with Lettermen Row and On3’s Chad Simmons about his visit to Columbus. Most notably, Coleman of course saw the news of Boggs’ commitment and was intrigued by the decision.
Eli Lee
The third and final prediction we will give might seem like an obvious one, but every commitment matters. Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee would know exactly what it means to be a Buckeye if he were to commit.
The in-state prospect has grown up an Ohio State fan. He’s spent his Saturdays watching his player comparison — Tommy Eichenberg — typically dominate for the Buckeyes in the middle. Lee earned his Ohio State offer a little over a week ago and doesn’t have any plans to make his commitment soon. But he also doesn’t want to wait around to make a decision.
“I’m going to wait a little bit just to see what could happen, but I mean, I’m not going to wait too long,” he said. “I don’t really know the timeframe, but I’m not going to sit on it incredibly long.”
