No. 2 PG Zoom Diallo Sets Second Arizona Visit, Looks at Alabama Visit; “Commitment Coming Soon”
Zoom Diallo is the No. 2 point guard in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. The four-star senior at Napa (CA) Prolific Prep was one of 84 players invited to this weekend’s 2023 USA Basketball Junior National Team October Minicamp.
“I want to come in and compete at a high level,” Diallo told On3. “I want to show that I can compete on both ends of the floor. There are so many top guys here, so I think it is important to show I am competing. Things have gone well; I had a couple of good days of competing and just take it one day at a time.”
On3 was able to catch up with Zoom Diallo and talk about his recruitment.
“I just took an official visit to Washington,” Diallo said. “I have another visit scheduled to Arizona on October 18-20, and I’m planning a visit with Alabama. We don’t have a date yet for that.”
Diallo has also taken official visits to Florida State, USC, and Gonzaga. He says that with RJay Barsh, his lead recruiter, leaving Florida State and going to Gonzaga, the Seminoles are no longer in the mix.
Diallo Talks Arizona
“I took the first visit there so early,” Diallo said. “I want to go back and refresh my memory of everything. They play fast. Being a point guard the fact they have so many good players around them is one thing a point guard wants. I want to have good players around me that allow me to be a leader to them.
“Their ability and their play style are something that I like and are appealing. Tommy Lloyd’s message to me has been great, really. Just the fact that he has the trust in me to come in and lead his program. He has let me know that he feels I am the guy who can come in and play point guard for him in my recruiting class. He instills in me that he just wants me to come in and have an impact.”

Diallo Talks Washington
“I already had a close relationship with Coach (Will) Conroy,” Diallo said. “But going on the visit, I actually got closer with him, with the whole staff, really. I was there for a couple of days, so that was good.
“I wanted to see going into that visit was their practice and their play style, and things like that. Being able to watch them play and see how they compete and move on the court was good.
“Coach (Mike) Hopkins has just been telling me that he wants me to be the point guard who comes in and has an immediate impact. He has been recruiting me since my freshman year, and he really trusts me. They’re the hometown school, and they really want me to stay home.”
Diallo Talks Alabama
“Alabama is still recruiting me hard,” Diallo said. “I haven’t been able to get an exact date yet in place for a visit. With Border League, USA, and these practices all, I got to see what time fits to be able to make get out there.
“Alabama plays an NBA style, and that play style sticks out to me. They had Brandon Miller last year, who had a big impact his freshman year. They give their guys freedom; they let them go up and down the court and have a lot of spacing. With my ability to get in the paint, that spacing and that style is something that I like.”
Diallo Talks Gonzaga and USC
“Gonzaga has been consistent with me,” Diallo said. “They’re another hometown school, a national powerhouse. They have been winning a lot, and they are known for winning. Coach (Mark) Few has been great with me.
“Coach (RJay) Barsh moving from Florida State to Gonzaga has been pretty good. They’re recruiting me pretty hard. I got to see how they apply what they do in games in their player development. That really intrigued me.
“With USC, Coach (Andy) Enfield has been heavily recruiting me. With the potential of Isaiah Collier leaving, they want another guard to come in and lead the team.”
The Decision
I don’t have an exact time yet to commit,” Diallo said. “But, I am going to commit soon.
“I want to go to a program where I can have an immediate impact. Where the coach trusts me, and I trust him. I am going to look at the player development and the play style of the school to make sure it’s a fit.
“I want to get up and down, play with a lot of movement and a lot of spacing that will let the guys operate. Ball screens tool”
