Poll Position: Ole Miss moves closer to the Top 10 with win over Arkansas

After tumbling back down the polls two weeks ago after the loss at Alabama, Ole Miss finds itself right back where it started before that trip to Tuscaloosa after two straight wins in Southeastern Conference play.

Following the 27-20 win over Arkansas on Saturday the Rebels moved back up to inside the Top 15 and inching closer to a Top 10 ranking as it hits the bye week.

Ole Miss (5-1, 2-1 SEC) is ranked 13th in both the newest Associated Press and Coaches Polls that were released on Sunday. The Rebels jumped up three spots in the AP Poll while moving up two spots in the Coaches Poll, respectively.

With the pair of wins over LSU and the Razorbacks the last two weeks Ole Miss has gotten back to within shouting distance of the team that handed it their lone defeat with Alabama sitting at No. 11 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll.

Once the Rebels rest up during the bye week they will start the back half of its schedule and currently only have one opponent ranked in the Top 25 left on its schedule. That would be consensus No. 1 Georgia (6-0, 3-0), which Ole Miss will play in Athens on November 11.

Ole Miss resumes its 2023 season on October 21 when it travels to Auburn (3-2, 0-2). Kickoff time and television designation for the game will be announced on Monday.
