Ohio State made a strong first impression on 2025 WR target Edward Coleman

Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day wide receiver Edward Coleman picked up an offer from Ohio State in the spring. The Buckeyes have been recruiting the talented junior since and he made his first trip up to Columbus this weekend for the Maryland game.

The Big Ten program led by Ryan Day didn’t disappoint.

“The first experience was great,” Coleman told On3. “It was better than other experiences I have had on visits. Ohio State definitely made a good first impression and it just felt like home.”

Ohio State started off slow. Maryland got up early, but the Buckeyes played strong in the second half to come out with a 37-17 victory. Coleman got the full game-day experience. He was impressed with how Ohio State’s offense performed and being in the locker room after the game also stood out to Coleman.

The Buckeyes only helped themselves with this visit.

“The atmosphere, meeting the players, and being able to see the team elevate their play in the second half were some of the highlights. the stadium was packed too and I loved how the fans were a big part of keeping them in the game.

“After finally being able to make it on campus, it put them in the top group for me. Ohio State is definitely in my top five. I can’t wait to see more.”

Coleman didn’t get to spend much time with Day. He did speak with Brian Hartline. The two have a strong relationship going and Coleman called Hartline his guy saying he could definitely play for him in the future.

There are no visits locked in for Coleman in the coming weeks, but he is eyeing visits to Alabama, Florida State and Tennessee. He wants to return to Ohio State before the end of the season as well.
