OT Bennett Warren ‘locked down’ with Vols, enjoys first gameday experience

2024 Fort Bend Christian Academy (Texas) four-star offensive lineman Bennett Warren returned to Tennessee last Saturday for the first time since June. The Tennessee commitment was on hand to see the Vols defeat South Carolina, as he took in his first gameday experience on Rocky Top. He talks this and much more with Volquest.

Warren had heard plenty about what to expect from a night at Neyland, but the atmosphere exceeded his expectations.

“It was definitely an awesome atmosphere,” Warren said. “I expected it in some ways but at the same time, it blew my mind. On defense, you can’t hear a thing. I think it was a great environment. It was insane. It was everything I thought it would be and more. I loved it.”

Warren was also impressed with the way Tennessee’s offensive line control the Gamecocks defensive front on Saturday night.

“I really liked the way the offensive line played as a unit tonight,” Warren said of Glen Elarbee’s unit. “I liked what they did in the run and pass game. I thought the best guy out there tonight was John Campbell. He is an absolute beast. That was crazy. I loved it.”

While Warren was impressed with Campbell, he has heard frequently about Tennessee’s need for more tackle bodies. Saturday night allowed him more of an opportunity to see the opportunities on Rocky Top.

“They are losing a lot of tackles for sure, I think behind John Campbell and guys like that, it is a big spot for guys like me to fill,” Warren said of seeing the opportunity. “That is something that is exciting and will come with time.”

Since committing to Tennessee over Michigan and others in late July, Warren’s relationship with the Vols staff has only continued to grow.

“It gets better every time I talk to them,” Warren said of the relationship with Tennessee since his commitment. “KP and Micah are like my big brothers. Coach Elarbee, he is always there for me, and I love that about them. Coach Heupel is always there for me, too.”

Saturday night’s visit only solidified what Warren knew coming into the weekend. He is ready to be a Vol, and he is not planning to entertain looking at any other schools.

“My commitment is shut down,” Warren said. “At some point, I feel like it would be disrespectful to even think about flipping from Tennessee. Call me a lockdown or whatever. I am just focused on these last five district games coming up and hopefully winning another state championship.”
