5-star OT Jordan Seaton on Florida Gators: ‘What I like about them is Billy Napier’
What does 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy hope to experience during his official visit to Florida this weekend?
“I want to see (Gators offensive line coach) Rob Sale and how everything translates from practice to the game,” Seaton told On3’s Joseph Hastings. “I’m not too much of a flashy guy like some people who go to see the environment. Some people go just to see the jerseys or get in the uniform. I’m there to see the experience, see the coach — see how he teaches.”
Seaton’s game Friday night was in the metro-Jacksonville area. Afterward, he was heading to Gainesville to begin his official. But first, he caught up with Hastings.
According to Seaton, Florida is one of the teams he hears from the most. The Gators are in a group that includes the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee, He still talks with Colorado a lot, too. And Miami is among the schools trying to secure a visit.
But this weekend, Florida will have his attention.
Jordan Seaton is a huge Florida Gators target
Seaton, the No. 2 tackle in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings, is listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds. He is one of the Gators’ most important remaining targets. Florida currently has four offensive linemen committed in the 2024 class but the Gators would love to add a franchise left tackle to the fold.
Florida has been a major factor in Seaton’s recruitment for several months.
The Gators prefer not to do official visits during the season because of the time constraints for the coaching staff on a game weekend. However, Seaton is such an important recruit they made an exception for him.
“Important visit for them,” Seaton told Gators Online on Thursday. “This could make ’em lead the race or exit the race.”
Saturday, Seaton will attend the Florida-Vanderbilt game.
“After the game, we’re going to watch some film of that game and see what the coaches break down — how they break down film,” Seaton told Hastings. “And break down stuff on their guys. Just learning about Coach Rob Sale and how he teaches. That will be a big thing coming in this weekend.”
With Florida, there are many things Seaton likes.
But everything starts with the man in charge of the Gators.
“What I like about them is, Billy Napier,” Seaton said. “He comes with that energy. And when you talk to him, he doesn’t seem robotic, you know. Some other schools, they just send the same texts. But him — he gives you a real number. He talks to you real. And just knowing that he cares about the person first, and not just what you can do for the school. He’s trying to build you into a man. And I feel like that’s what I like most about the Florida Gators.”
