WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Well, of course there was the tough Final Four loss on Saturday night and we had you covered with postgame videos, Gary Ferman’s opinion column, a photo gallery and game story with reaction. Jim Larranaga also shared his thoughts the day after, when the team returned to campus. You also can reflect on all our pre-game coverage including CaneSport’s interview with Leonard Hamilton.
In football there was the Saturday scrimmage work you can read about with Mario Cristobal weighing in.
And there also was plenty of recruiting news including our weekend visit preview and a notebook including 5-star David Stone’s situation. Additionally…
We had an Inside The Lines presentation with Naples (Fla.) four-star safety Kensley Faustin. He is one of the top players in the Sunshine State in the 2024 cycle and the University of Miami is one of the many Power Five programs chasing his commitment.
Miami also has climbed on Horn Lake (Miss.) Lake Cormorant 2025 four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson’s radar. We catch up with him.
Blountstown (Fla.) 2024 four-star defensive lineman Artavius Jones spoke about his visit and sees Mario Cristobal is building a special program at Miami. Check out his take.
Hollywood (Fla.) 2024 running back Chris Wheatley-Humphrey is feeling like Miami is home after his second visit to Coral Gables in three weeks.
Another area visitor was 2024 Miami Edison defensive lineman Dinellson Exume. he returned to the University of Miami for the first time since receiving an offer from the Hurricanes and described his time on campus as surreal.
There also was a long-range visitor: Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic 2024 offensive tackle Manasse Itete was impressed on his visit to Miami, and he’s planning on taking an official visit this summer as a result.
And Don’t miss our RPM prediction for Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep 2024 four-star safety Zaquan Patterson.
Plus there’s a breakdown of five 2024 targets whose interest in Miami rose last month.
Also don’t miss our recaps and reaction stories off Miami’s big weekend baseball series vs. Florida State.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

Francisco Mauigua vs Corey Flagg … Posted by Sweatchuck
Who will win the battle to be the starting MLB? With a new DC and new defense they both coming in on the same playing field. I won’t say much other than if Mauigua don’t have the starting position on lock before the Spring is over we better go ham in the portal to find that Dude
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Just being down here and growing up watching the Hurricanes, you know Miami football. When Miami football is on top the whole state of Florida is a vibe and everything about Florida is up. Just being from down here is a major factor because you want to stay home and put on for your city.”
