FIVE FOR ’25: Taking stock of top Florida State targets for 2025 class (Offense)

There are still some finishing touches to be made to Florida State’s impressive 2024 recruiting class, but the Seminoles are also working hard on the classes of 2025 and beyond.

While the ’24 class is ranked No. 6 in the nation, there’s a chance the next class could be rated even higher. With that in mind, it’s time to look ahead at five key targets to watch for that class.

Let’s start with the offensive side of the ball. Next up will be five targets to watch on defense.

Five targets to watch for 2025 (Offense)

Four-star RB Ousmane Kromah (Lee County, Ga.)

On3 ranking: No. 26 prospect overall, No. 2 RB in country

Kromah is one of the most unique running backs in the nation. Not only does he possess very quick feet for a big back, but he has very good hands out of the backfield and the speed to take it the distance. Kromah also is a prospect I hear FSU has a very legit chance with because he likes what the Seminoles do with their backs and how he would be used in the offense.

I expect to see Kromah at multiple Florida State games this fall. The staff has put a lot of effort into his recruitment, and Lee County is not too far from Tallahassee. Kromah has had very high praise for FSU RBs coach David Johnson, and he has visited the Seminoles several times, even though he is only a junior. Georgia and Auburn are going to be big factors here, but I hear the ‘Noles are legit contenders as well.

Four-star WR Jaime Ffrench (Mandarin)

On3 ranking: No. 11 prospect overall, No. 3 WR

I pointed out earlier this year that despite his pledge to Alabama, this one is far from a lock when it comes to his final choice. I think FSU is a school to closely watch for Ffrench, as I expect him to visit the Florida State campus multiple times. He already attended the big FSU win over LSU earlier this year. There’s talk he could be back this weekend for another visit and then again for the FSU-Miami game.

Keep in mind that FSU commit Tramell Jones is his QB at Mandarin, and the two are pretty close. It’s clear that Florida State’s first four games have caught Ffrench’s attention, and he continues to be one we’ll be watching.

Four-star TE Elysis Williams (Camden County, Ga.)

On3 ranking: No. 15 prospect overall, No. 1 TE in country

Williams is committed to Georgia, but Florida State’s coaches have worked very hard on his recruitment, and he worked out for them at the Seminole Showcase event earlier this summer. He also FSU multiple times, even after he committed to the Bulldogs. The intel suggests there’s still quite a bit of interest in the ‘Noles. But it won’t be easy snagging him away from Georgia, which has down a very good job with tight end development.

That’s not everything, however. Williams has built very good relationships with FSU assistant coaches Alex Atkins and Chris Thomsen, as well as head coach Mike Norvell. And that’s a big reason why he’s on this list.

Four-star OL Solomon Thomas (Raines)

On3 ranking: No. 22 prospect overall, No. 3 OT in country

Florida State has been recruiting well on the offensive line for quite some time, and I believe the Seminoles’ 2025 class could potentially be the best OL class FSU has ever landed. At least based on how things are trending so far. Thomas is one of FSU’s biggest targets, and I really like where the ‘Noles sit in this recruitment. Florida was the biggest competition, but the Gators’ on-the-field struggles aren’t helping.

I think Thomas is sold on Alex Atkins as a developer of elite linemen, and I believe FSU is in the best position at this point. I expect Thomas back at FSU multiple times this year for games. There’s no timeline on a decision, but if one is made at this point, it would be Florida State in my view.

Four-star OL Ziyare Addison (Sumner)

On3 ranking: No. 215 prospect overall, No. 18 OT in country

As strong as I feel about FSU’s chances with Thomas, I actually feel stronger about the Seminoles’ prospects with Addison. He has camped at FSU, the ‘Noles were the first to offer, and there’s just a different feeling when Addison talks about other schools compared to Florida State. I think FSU is in a really good spot here, although Florida, Auburn and Oklahoma are among a long list of suitors.

So when will the decision happen? Potentially late this year, I’m told. Either way, I believe FSU sits in a great spot. His family loves Atkins and FSU, as well as the direction of the entire program.
