REMINDER: Big Blue Madness ticket distribution begins TONIGHT

Basketball season is almost here, folks. Tickets for the 2023 edition of Big Blue Madness will begin distribution TONIGHT (Friday, Sept. 29) starting at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Tickets, which are free of charge, will be distributed exclusively online through Ticketmaster.com and the Ticketmaster app. Big Blue Madness, known as the annual tipoff of the Kentucky men’s and women’s basketball seasons, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:00 p.m. EST inside of Rupp Arena. Due to the ongoing construction at Memorial Coliseum, there will be no in-person ticket distribution this season.

Regardless of age, a ticket will be required for entry to Big Blue Madness. A “minimal service fee” will be attached to each online order. There is a limit of two tickets per household. SEC Network will televise the event live for those unable to attend.

There has been no word yet on the format for this year’s BBM. Last year’s event included a “La Familia Reunion,” with several of John Calipari’s former men’s basketball players making appearances, including Brandon Knight, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Ulis, Nick Richards, Kevin Knox, and Hamidou Diallo.

On the court, Antonio Reeves won the three-point contest, while the crowd dubbed Jacob Toppin the winner of the dunk contest. Blair Green repeated as the winner of the women’s three-point contest and women’s basketball head coach Kyra Elzy entered the arena on the back of a motorcycle.
