Wolverine TV: Game clips of Top 100 Michigan CB commit Chris Ewald

Top 100 2025 Michigan cornerback commit Chris Ewald recorded three tackles and helped Miami (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna come away with a 31-28 win over Miami (Fla.) Central in a battle of schools ranked in the Top 10 nationally.

Ewald Recruitment

Ewald made a surprising decision when he committed to Michigan in December over a number of major offers.

Since then, Ewald has made multiple visits to Michigan, including a trip in late June.

“It’s always a good time when I get to talk to the coaches,” Ewald said after the visit. “It’s great that we’re able to keep building our relationships. I’m glad I got up there since I hadn’t been up there for a while. We went over the defense a little bit. Coach Clink (Steve Clinkscale) is trying to get me used to the terms they use and things like that.”

While Ewald seems happy with his decision, that hasn’t stopped others from continuing to recruit him. Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee have all been in contact over the last couple of months. Miami hosted him for a visit earlier this season.

Ewald plans to return to Michigan for a visit in November for the game against Ohio State.

At 5-foot-11, 161 pounds, Ewald is ranked as the No. 7 cornerback and No. 86 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 17 overall recruit in the state of Florida for next cycle.

Ewald is part of a two-man 2025 Michigan recruiting class that also includes four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka. The class is ranked No. 17 nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings.
