Notre Dame WR Deion Colzie to miss a few weeks following knee scope

On Monday, Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman provided an injury update on three players during his weekly news conference. Most importantly, junior wide receiver Deon Colzie will be out for a few weeks following a knee scope. 

Colzie did not play any offensive snaps against Ohio State on Saturday. He last played eight snaps against Central Michigan on Sept. 16. That nearly matched a season-low seven snaps against Navy on Aug. 26. The 6-4 ¼, 210-pounder has three receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown — all of which game in the Navy game — this season.

Freeman also noted that fellow junior wide receiver Jayden Thomas will be questionable against Duke on Saturday with a hamstring injury. The  6-1 ½, 221-pound Thomas had a 7-yard catch against Ohio State and played 30 of 65 offensive snaps. 

Although it did not affect his participation, Freeman also mentioned that graduate student linebacker Marist Liufau did not practice as much last week. He dealt with a stinger in the neck area from the Central Michigan game. The 6-2,  239-pound Liufau played 61 of 69 snaps versus the Buckeyes but did not record any statistics.
