4-Star LSU Commit “Most Definitely” Plans to Get Back to USC
LSU’s held 4-Star Fairburn (GA) ATH Joseph Stone’s verbal pledge since July and the Tigers have built a strong bond with Stone. He’s already been back to Baton Rouge numerous times this offseason and will be back in the future.
“Everybody knows I love LSU. Love the Boot, love the state of Louisiana, I love the SEC,” Stone said. “I love the coaching staff at LSU, I love the culture of everything. Coach Brian Kelly and what he’s doing at LSU, it’s definitely big. I’ll be home probably six more times before football season starts.”
But the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Langston Hughes HS recruit visited Texas on March 30 and USC on Friday March 31. He also plans to visit Ohio St. at some point.
“I am not going to miss out on any opportunity, so I am going to take all of my visits but it will take a lot for someone to flip me,” said Stone, the No. 210 overall prospect and No. 12 athlete in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. “For me to change my mind, I would have to have that same feeling I have at LSU at another place. That will be hard to match.”
Potential return USC visit?
WeAreSC asked Stone if the USC visit went well enough to plan a second visit?
“Man, most definitely,” said Stone.
Stone is being pursued as a wide receiver, despite On3 ranking him as an ATH, but he didn’t have an offer as of Friday.
Early Enrollee
JoJo Stone will be an early enrollee in January. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Stone ranks as the No. 214 overall prospect in the country and No. 12 athlete in the nation.
Despite his commitment to LSU, multiple schools are still pushing hard for Stone’s pledge. They include Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M.
