Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr. exits with right leg injury in 3rd quarter vs. Notre Dame, status uncertain

Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. got rolled up on and required attention from trainers after a long TreVeyon Henderson touchdown run in the 3rd quarter against Notre Dame on Saturday evening. Harrison was blocking on the perimeter when the injury happened.

Harrison’s block likely sprung the touchdown for Henderson. But after the running back blazed behind Harrison, a defender in pursuit whiffed on a tackle and tumbled into the back of the wideouts legs.

Harrison’s right foot and ankle got rolled up on and the junior remained down on the turf as Henderson hustled into the end zone early in the 3rd quarter.

He was helped off the field by trainers and taken into the medical tent after a commercial break. Ohio State leads, 10-0.

Sideline reporter Ahmed Fareed said Harrison remained in the tent as Notre Dame began the ensuing drive. Later in the drive, as Notre Dame worked into Buckeye territory, Harrison was seen out of the tent and working out his right ankle and lower leg. He did not appear to have his helmet, but was moving under his own power, a promising sign.

On3’s Andy Staples noted that he was jogging on the sideline after exiting the tent and was still talking to trainers.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
