WATCH: Mark Stoops’ Monday Press Conference: Vandy Week

Mark Stoops opened his Monday press conference by saying he feels the same way he did in his postgame comments after Kentucky‘s win over Akron. “Similar thoughts,” he told the Kroger Field media room. “A broken record.”
The thoughts? Playing cleaner football and better offensive execution, specifically along the offensive line and at wide receiver. Kentucky’s blocking and inexcusable penalties were called out as Stoops read the drive chart aloud, noting possessions that should’ve ended in scores and didn’t.
“You score touchdowns on five of 10 possessions, so that’s good,” he said. “Then you look at why we didn’t score,” before naming several of the costly mistakes.
Other topics in Monday’s 30-minute conversation include getting ready for Vanderbilt, working with Brad White and Liam Coen, the homecoming in Nashville for some of his key players, being unhappy at 3-0, and lots more.
He also provided two injury updates, although there weren’t much to the updates. Stoops is “not sure” about Kenneth Horsey‘s playing status and he will wait until later in the week to share what he knows about Josh Kattus.
