4-star commit Ny Carr returns: ‘It was nice hanging with the guys’

Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver commit Ny Carr was all smiles in his return to Athens.

It was Carr’s first time at a game in over a year. He visited Georgia back on May 20 but Carr hasn’t taken in a gameday in some time.

Carr, the No. 68 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry rankings made the trip to Athens to watch Georgia best SEC East rival South Carolina 24-14 on Saturday.

Carr was among a long list of Georgia commits in town on Saturday. That was one of the standout parts of the weekend for Carr.

“It was good handing out with the guys,” Carr said. “They know what it is when we all get together.”

The Bulldogs’ offense created three points in the first half of the game on Saturday. South Carolina carried a 14-3 lead into halftime on Saturday.

After the break, the Bulldogs responded with 21 straight points to win 24-14. The Bulldogs’ resilency grabbed Carr’s attention as well.

“What stood out the most was how they locked in and pulled away in the second half,” Carr said. “That’s what caught my attention. They started to move faster on offense.”

Carr felt the Bulldogs felt that the Bulldogs have a few opportunities to build moving toward the rest of the season in 2023.

“I think their performance could’ve been better in the first half setting the tone,” Carr said.

Carr was also blown away by the atmosphere in Sanford Stadium.

“The atmosphere can’t get any better than in that stadium,” Carr said. “It was live and it was a great environment.”

Carr is solid on Georgia at the moment. He has been committed to the Bulldogs since July 5, 2022. Two weeks ago, Carr shot down any rumblings of a potential flip.

“Everything is everything (with Georgia),” Carr said back on Sept. 10. “We’re taking dubs. We’re airing it out…It’s a brotherhood. We win together, we compete together, we sleep together and we win together. There’s nothing better.”
