Live updates: Penn State-Illinois score, stats, and more

Champaign, Ill. — No. 7 Penn State opens Big Ten play today when the Nittany Lions take on Illinois (1-1) at Memorial Stadium. Both teams arrived at 10 a.m., and kickoff is set for Noon ET on FOX.

“[Penn State is] just experts of opening on the road, whether it’s the first game, the second game, the third game, the fourth game, not only in my 10 years, but I think over the last 15 years,” Penn State coach James Franklin joked earlier in the week about his team’s eighth straight conference opener away from Beaver Stadium. “We’re experts. So, I think we’re going to put an offseason clinic on how to open in the Big Ten.”
